Budgeting basics

One of the hardest things to learn when you’re first starting out is how to manage your money. There are so many things to figure out: how to create a functional, useable budget, how to start an emergency fund, how to save money, how to avoid debt and how to still have fun. It’s a lot to process. I hope I can help you through it.

I will share with you my thoughts and suggestions on how to create a budget. I will share with you how to create a very basic, minimal emergency fund. I will share with you how to find fun and free or cheap activities. I will share with you the lessons I’ve learned from working for 3 years to dig out of a mound of debt so you don’t make the same mistakes. I will share with you my favorite resources from around the web. Once you have these tools in your arsenal, you will be able to manage your money in an easy, functional manner.

Please note that I am not a financial expert. The only financial training I’ve had is self-taught from my research and experiences. Please take my advice and apply it as you see fit. If you need professional financial advice, seek the consult of an expert.
